Nha Trang One
@nhatrangnyc was opened by the Ha family in 1992, named after a coastal city in southern Vietnam where the family worked and frequented. Before starting Nha Trang One, the family ran another successful Vietnamese restaurant, Pasteur, in Chinatown. Andy Ha manages his family’s restaurant and continues to bring traditional Vietnamese cuisine to NYC.
Nha Trang One is an excellent place for all types of diners. Regulars and tourists often grab a quick lunch, and during dinner service, large groups come to share the tasty food. The restaurant has been featured in numerous publications such as the NYTimes and Infatuation.
The extensive menu features classic Vietnamese dishes such as phở, bánh mì, and bún (rice vermicelli dishes). For appetizers, the summer rolls, fried taro shrimp cakes, and crispy calamari are perfect for sharing. For adventurous eaters, we recommend their canh chua, a sweet and sour soup with tomatoes, okra, and bean sprouts with either fish, shrimp, or chicken. It is a flavorful dish that can be paired with a bowl of rice to soak in the tangy broth. Andy’s favorites include the bò lúc lắc (shaken beef) and crispy calamari.
Innovation is vital to Nha Trang One’s success. They recently added a new fried taro shrimp cake appetizer to the menu and expanded their drinks menu to include nước mía (fresh sugarcane juice from @sugarcanedaddynyc). They also participated in @thinkchinatown’s Chinatown Night Market this year and recently collaborated with @misturlee to launch a new late-night pop-up inside the restaurant.
