Sun’s Organic Garden

Phoenix Dancong Oolong

Sun’s Organic Garden is a loose-leaf tea shop that focuses on promoting health and wellness. It offers over 500 mostly organic or wild quality loose-leaf teas and herbs, popular among younger Asian Americans looking to connect with their heritage. The shop's owner, Natalie, was a loyal fan of the store before she bought Sun's Organic Garden in 2019. She chose the name "garden" because it represents a small cultivated place, reflecting how much thought and effort is put into selecting tea that brings comforting memories of home, family, and food.

Natalie, known as the Chinatown Tea Lady, grew up in Canada, came to the U.S. as a young adult, and fell in love with New York City. She feels the shop's Chinatown location is perfect since Chinese history has a long tradition of incorporating tea and herbs into daily health habits. She also loves that the shop meets the needs of customers who don't speak Chinese fluently.

While the lack of foot traffic during the start of COVID caused a temporary shutdown, Sun's Organic Garden is open again for business and has also been hosting tea tastings at customers' request. It's a special spot for jazz enthusiasts, who share their playlists for the store to play. Come check out Sun's Organic Garden in person or on their website for bestsellers like organic milky oolong, Phoenix Dancong oolong (direct from the farm), dragon eye black tea, shou puerh, brain tea, Chinese spring green tea, or high mountain oolongs, and the Sun's Top 5 bundle! If you're not sure about your tea taste, take part in Sun's unique service where they help you discover your aroma & taste preferences and offer suggestions that would best meet your wellness needs & goals.

Hours of operation are Friday and Saturday from 12 - 5 pm!
