Jane’s Walks NYC

Explore Manhattan's Chinatown with FREE guided tours during #JanesWalkNYC weekend, May 6-8!

We will be leading 4 free Chinatown walking tours as part of the Municipal Art Society of NY’s "Jane's Walk," a movement of free, citizen-led walking tours inspired by Jane Jacobs. The walks get people to tell stories about their communities, explore their cities, and connect with neighbors. It now takes place in more than 200 cities worldwide, with Jane's Walk NYC, presented by the Municipal Art Society of New York, as the largest of these festivals.

What started as a handful of walks in 2011 has since grown into a weekend of collective neighborhood storytelling featuring hundreds of walks online and across all five boroughs. Explore and celebrate NYC through 175+ guided, self-guided, and virtual walks - all created and led by volunteers who are passionate about the city we share.

This walking tour is an abbreviated version of our signature "Relive Life Under the Chinese Exclusion Act" tour and will last approximately 1 hour.
