Bambū [CLOSED]

Fruit Addict & Bambū Favorite

Bambū is a café specializing in Vietnamese chè dessert drinks, fruit smoothies, pandan waffles, fresh teas, and coffees. It is a franchise that originated in San Jose, California, by four Vietnamese sisters who wanted to share a bit of their culture through dessert drinks.

In March 2020, Jackie Luu and Jessica Tam opened the first Bambū location in NYC. After visiting Bambū for the first time in Philadelphia, they fell in love with the Vietnamese chè dessert drinks and wanted to share them with NYC.

Jackie studied Finance at Baruch College and comes from a family of entrepreneurs. Jessica studied Forensic Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Culinary Arts at Kingsborough Community College. Besides co-owning Bambū, Jackie and Jessica also manage other businesses. Jackie owns Stuffed Ice Cream, while Jessica owns her own custom cake business, Specialoccakesions.

Chinatown means a lot to Jackie and Jessica, who spent a lot of time in the neighborhood due to Chinese school and their family businesses. Owning a business in Chinatown means that they can be a part of maintaining the Asian diversity that makes Chinatown, Chinatown.

Chè are traditional Vietnamese sweet dessert drinks made with coconut water or coconut milk with a variety of fruit, jellies, and beans. Stop by Bambū and try their bestselling chè (Bambū Special, Fruit Addict, Bambū Favorite, and Bambū Halo Halo). They are naturally dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan-friendly. Don't forget to order a pandan waffle as well. They’re freshly made, with a crispy exterior and mochi-like texture on the inside.

P.S. You can earn rewards like free mochi ice cream and drink upgrades when you join their rewards program on Fivestars!
