Three Roosters Thai [CLOSED]

Zab Fried Chicken with Ginger Rice

Three Roosters Thai officially opened their second location in Chinatown last Friday!

The founders, Pibool Koonvirarak, Teeradej Naruenartwanich, and Apisit Sutthisopaarporn, are college friends who aim to bring their childhood memories from the streets of Thailand to the US. They have experience in the food service industry after opening I•CE•NY, a Thai rolled ice cream shop. After coming to the states, they realized that most Thai restaurants offer the same repetitive menu of pad thai and curry. They decided to open a restaurant to introduce a comforting chicken and rice dish that they grew up eating back home.

Three Roosters features a limited but focused menu. Their signature dish, chicken and rice, is served three ways (lemongrass grilled chicken, crispy fried chicken, and tender poached chicken). Each dish is served with either sticky rice or ginger rice, vegetables, sauces, and a clear chicken broth.

The chicken is non-GMO and free of antibiotics, hormones, and unwanted preservatives. Both glutinous and jasmine rice come from Thailand. The founders also care deeply about sustainability, and their goal is to be a nearly zero-waste establishment with 100% compostable cups and packaging.

The friends chose Chinatown as their second location as they wanted to improve how the world views Chinatown and first-generation restaurants, starting by raising the bar for cleanliness, ambiance, and customer service. While their Hell's Kitchen location focuses on their seven original dishes, the Chinatown location offers more appetizers, noodle dishes, and a wine/beer bar.

P.S. Make sure to try their signature Zab chicken! It’s seasoned with a blend of spices and is salty, sweet, sour, spicy, and seriously addicting. For a limited time, you can also get a scratch-off ticket for every $30 spent. Prizes include free chicken + rice for a month, appetizers, fries, and more!
